Destination villages are the strength of this private island in Quezon, Philippines. It feels like you’re traveling all over the world with their Mykonos, Bali, Costa Del Sol, St Tropez, Phuket, Toscana, and their Balesin royal villages.
Tip: Membership for this private island costs millions BUT you can ask a member to refer you to the management so you can stay in the island as a guest.
This island has been the number 1 beach destination in the Philippines. But during summer, it gets even more crowded because of the countless beach parties and concerts that are held in this island. If you’re the type of person who enjoys dancing and partying in the beach, the perfect time to go here this summer is around last week of April till first week of May because there are tons of Labor Day events in the island!
Tip: You can also do a lot of water activities in Boracay like parasailing, fly fishing, helmet diving, cliff diving etc! It’s also great to visit Boracay during off-peak months, not only because the hotels are all at sale, but also because the beaches are less crowded and the water is cleaner and clearer!
Looking for a quiet island to spend with your family? The resorts in El Nido are your best bet. There are a lot of resorts in the area but if you’re looking into the more luxurious ones, choose from these 4 resorts: Lagen, Miniloc, Apulit, Pangulsian. They are more expensive than regular resorts but trust me, every cent is worth it. The amenities, food, lodging equates to staying in perfect paradise.
Tip: Ask the resort to tour you around the islands in El Nido like Small and Big Lagoon, Snake Island etc.
Best known for surfing, this is for the adventure lovers out there. You can camp out while you wait for waves, or stay in various hostels like Flotsam and Jetsam & Circle Hostel so you can meet new friends while you’re there! You can also trek to the famous Tangadan Falls and go cliff diving from a 20-feet jump-off point.
Tip: Make sure to visit the famous El Union coffee for some kickass breakfast, smores dessert and coffee, Mad Monkeys for their insanely awesome burgers, and Halo Halo de Iloko for authentic Filipino dishes. And if you’re into surfing, then October to March are the perfect months for you because they have the perfect waves for your surfing ride!
Like La Union, Baler is also a famous surf spot. Still, if you don’t feel like using up all your energy on that, you can relax and enjoy the pool at Costa Pacifica resort. Probably the best resort in Baler. Around the area, there’s a Charlie Does café that has yummy desserts and coffee. It’s such a perfect place to just chill and hang around with friends.
Tip: There are a lot of surf schools in Baler and the waves are perfect for beginners so even if you’re not a surfer, try it out and who knows? You might be super good at it! And just like La Union, October to March is the way to go if you’re visiting Balesin for surfing!
